Ribbon

 I'm going to talk about the ribbon. It is one of the best friends for Floral Designers because we can give a special touch on our arrangement. the ribbon comes in different colors, patterns, textures, silky, velvet, sizes, prints, double face, etc.  

The reasons of using the ribbon on a floral arrangement are cover the floral tape, wrap, give a lovely accent, add an elegant touch, and add additional durability. 

The colors for a bouquet can be light ivory, green and champagne their perfect combine colors are red, orange, yellow and pink, blue and white... Basically they go with most of the colors. However, we have to say ivory, champagne and green helps to allow the bloom pop!!!

It's very common to used 5/8 (#3) is for a corsage and boutonnières, 1/2 or (#9)for plants and floral arrangement, 1 7/8 (#16) for a bouquet and 2.5 or (#40) for plants and funeral arrangements.

The ribbon gives an aspect or an illusion that is a present. the person who is giving was thinking about you and it makes you feel special, it doesn't matter if it is a birthday, special occasion or just because!! However, be humble, give a smile😀 and say THANK YOU!!

Hello... I'm Rosie and I'm happy to share my floral journey and story with you. I'm a student of Floral Design. I have an amazing teacher at the college, she is guiding me through this awesome adventure. 

Well, I grew up in Morelia, Mx; and moved to the U.S. few years ago. I'm an English teacher as a Second Language... sorry if I'm don't say the things right, I'm still learning. I'm passionate about art, crafting and hand tools. Being a Mexican and growing with all the colors, textures, traditions and culture. Brings me to be who I am and see all the beautiful shapes, forms and colors that flowers have. 

By the years I found out that being a teacher it's not my passion. I always find myself painting, looking videos about DIYs or about cooking lately. However, taking the Floral classes, I discover a piece of me  that I couldn't imagine to do. Now a day, I really enjoy it how all the different shapes of the leaves, flowers and color come together and make something beautiful, and spectacular and how you can transmit emotions and feelings to all of us.
